AssignWatch

AssignWatch collects only the minimum information required to function. Specifically:

• Canvas API Token — provided by you during setup, used solely to authenticate with your school's Canvas instance
• Canvas Domain — your school's Canvas URL (e.g. yourschool.instructure.com), used to direct API requests to the correct server
• Assignment Data — temporarily cached in your browser to reduce load times; refreshed every 30 minutes

• Your name, email address, or any personal identity information
• Browsing history or activity outside of Canvas
• Grades, course content, or submission data
• Location data
• Financial or payment information
• Any analytics or usage statistics

Your Canvas API token and domain are used for one purpose only: to make authenticated requests to your school's Canvas LMS so AssignWatch can display your assignment due dates.

Your data is never used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond the core functionality of the extension.

AssignWatch communicates directly with two services:

• Your school's Canvas LMS — to fetch your assignment data using the API token you provide
• Google Calendar — only when you click the "Add to Google Calendar" button, which opens a pre-filled Google Calendar URL in a new tab. No data is sent automatically.

No data is shared with any other third party.

• alarms — schedules a background refresh every 30 minutes to keep assignment data current
• notifications — sends a browser alert when an assignment is due within 24 hours
• storage — saves your Canvas token, domain, and cached assignments locally in your browser
• host_permissions (*.instructure.com) — allows the extension to make API calls to Canvas on your behalf

Your data exists only in your browser's local storage. You can delete it at any time by:

• Opening AssignWatch Settings and clearing your token and domain
• Uninstalling the extension, which removes all stored data automatically

AssignWatch has no servers or databases — there is no data retained on our end to delete.

If this privacy policy changes in a meaningful way, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect that. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
