⚡ Short version: ProfLens does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Ever.
ProfLens is a Chrome extension that overlays RateMyProfessors ratings directly onto your course registration page. When you hover over a professor's name, it shows their rating, difficulty score, would-retake percentage, and review count — without you ever leaving the page.
ProfLens does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of the following:
ProfLens stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's storage.sync API. This data never leaves your device to our servers:
This data is synced across your Chrome profile by Google if you have Chrome sync enabled — it is not handled by ProfLens in any way.
When you search for a professor or hover a badge, ProfLens sends a query to RateMyProfessors.com to retrieve professor rating data. This query includes only the professor's name and your school's ID — no personal information about you is sent. Please refer to RateMyProfessors' Privacy Policy for how they handle API requests.

ProfLens is intended for college students and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 13.
